Book Your PTE Exam Date in Nepal Before August 7, 2025

PTE Academic is one of the popular and widely accepted computer-based English language proficiency tests, often chosen by international students who are planning to study abroad. 

It is widely accepted by over 3,500 institutions worldwide, including governments and employers, for study, work, and migration purposes. It is also recognized by top global destinations including US, Australia, Canada, UK, and New Zealand. 

PTE tests are conducted by the Pearson PLC Group, who develop, administer, and score the PTE Academic, PTE Core, and other PTE tests. They also provide several resources for test takers, including mock tests and preparation materials. 

But as per official news from Pearson PTE, they are making some big changes from August 7 to improve their test structure and scoring system. So, we recommended you book your PTE date in Nepal before August 7, 2025, before the new format takes effect.

What is the new update in PTE?

Starting from August 7, 2025, Pearson PTE are making some changes to the PTE Academic to strengthen its test quality and offer test takers with more opportunities to showcase and improve their English language skills.  

Here is what’s changing in PTE Academic: 

Update 1: Two New Speaking Question Types 

Question A. Summarize Group Discussion 

In this question type, you will hear a conversation between three people. After listening, you should write a short summary about what they talked about in your own words. 

Audio Duration: Up to 3 minutes 

Skills Tested: Listening and speaking 

Response Time: 2 minutes to answer 

Question B. Respond to a Situation 

 In this question type, you will both hear and read a short description of a situation. Then, you'll need to give a detailed spoken answer related to those questions. 

Text Length: Maximum of 60 words 

Skills Tested: Speaking 

Response Time: You’ll have 40 seconds to speak 

Update 2: Increased Number of Questions 

PTE has added a few more question to allows test takers to show their English skills. However, the total duration for the PTE exam will still be 2 hours. 

Update 3: More Human Involvement in Scoring 

Some of your answers will be evaluated by both AI and human reviewers. However, pronunciation and fluency will only be assessed by AI, not by humans.  

Human reviewers are involved in scoring to make sure your answers are fair and accurate. 

Update 4: New Rating Scales 

PTE has improved the scoring guidelines for certain tasks to help you better understand how to achieve the highest scores. For more information on score guidelines, you can visit the official Pearson PTE website or you can consult with our highly experienced PTE instructors.

Are you still worried about the new PTE question format?

There is no reason to get worried about the new PTE test question. Because Pearson is releasing new resources to international students to support the updated test. 

These newly update question format will allows you showcase your English proficiency skills and will now provide fair and accurate results because of both AI and Human intervention in scoring. 

However, if you want to avoid learning the new questions or want to stick old format then we recommended you book your PTE exam date before August 7, 2025  

What if I have already booked a test?

If you’ve already booked your PTE Academic test before August 7, you’ll be taking the test using the current format, even if your test date is after August 7. Pearson has confirmed that the enhancements only apply to bookings made on or after August 7, not the test date itself. 

So, if your booking is confirmed before that date, you’re all set and can continue preparing with existing materials.

Is PTE test becoming more difficult after the August 7, 2025, update?

No, the PTE test is not becoming more difficult. A few additional questions have been added to give you more chances to demonstrate your English skills. 

The test format has also been improved by including both human and AI reviewers, making the scoring more accurate and fairer.
