Effective from June 8, 2025, IELTS fees have increased for both paper-based and computer-based tests, making it one of the most expensive English language exams compared to other options.

One of the reasons why it is so expensive is because it has a rigorous process of creating it since it needs ongoing research, designing tests, and revisions to keep it up to date and relevant at all times. Additionally, IELTS also needs human input (trained examiners) for the Speaking and Writing tests.
